The “teacher one laptop project” was launched by the Ghana Education Service, Ministry of Education and the Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Bawumia in September 2021.
About 350,000 Teacher Mate 1 (TM1) laptops have been procured and are currently being distributed nationwide. The customized laptop was manufactured by KA Technologies, a technology company which has a service branch in Ghana.
Laptops replace lesson notes writing
The laptops have come to replace the burden of writing lessons notes, as revealed by the Vice President on the day it was launched in St. Mary’s SHS. The reason is that several important documents have been uploaded on the laptop, including teaching and learning resources.
Microsoft training for teachers
Microsoft training will also be organized for every teacher to help them use the MS Office 2019 cry efficiently in delivery qualify lessons to pupils. So far, the region we have gotten hold of is Bono. The schedule entails the venue and date for collection of the laptop. However, several regions will be released soon.
Teachers yet to pay their 30%
Although the laptops have been paid for by both the employer and the employee, the latter’s portion is yet to be deducted from the Professional Development Allowance, which will be paid soon. According to the employer, the laptop is the personal property of the Ghanaian teacher, although he (teacher) paid only 30% Of The total cost.

It also has a USB 3.0 x1 +2.0x 2 ports with a front camera, 4.0 Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 802:1 b/g/h. It has a battery strength of 5000 mAh that can last for 4 hours on average
