The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament has directed the Attorney General’s Department to prosecute the Swedru School of Business and the College of Community Health Nurses Training, Winneba. The decision was made after both institutions appeared before the PAC during its ongoing review of the 2023 Auditor-General’s Report in Takoradi.
The Committee is currently examining the audited reports of Technical Universities, Colleges of Education, Senior High Schools, and Municipal and District Assemblies in the Central and Western Regions.
The audit report flagged the Swedru School of Business for procurement violations, specifically for purchasing stationery items in excess without adhering to the guidelines of the Procurement Act. However, the school’s authorities have disputed the findings, stating they submitted alternative quotations to the auditors as part of their defense.
The PAC is now pursuing legal action to ensure accountability and compliance with financial regulations.
