The Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has revealed that an MoU has been signed between his Minsirty and the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation (BOST) to provide scholarships to students in less Developed Communities.
Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum in a Facebook post indicated his excitement over the initiative which he called a groundbreaking one.
In a statement released, the teaching Minister indicated :
“In a significant move towards providing access to education for all, the Ministry of Education has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Ltd. – BOST to provide scholarships for students from less privileged communities in agroundbreaking new initiative.”
According to the MoU signed, the partnership is expected to provide scholarships that will cover tuition, books, and other expenses for students from low-income households and marginalized communities who want to pursue engineering in tertiary institutions.
The purpose for the partnership is a significant step towards promoting equal access to education and it is expected to empower young people with interest in engineering to pursue their academic dream.
