Owusu Agyekum, a Ghanaian in the UK Army has disclosed that he has regretted ever wanting to join the Ghana Army back in Ghana.
The UK soldier revealed that there is no connection/bribe in the UK for applicants who wish to join the UK army. According to him, one has to just apply for the military and will will selected if there is no life threatening health condition.
Additionally, he disclosed that unlike Ghana military, there is nothing like height disqualification. If only you are fit without any serious life threatening health problem, you stand a fair chance of being recruited.
It was in light of these merits in abroad that he was able to join the British army which he called a dream worth achieving after trying endlessly to join the Ghana Army but got rejected due to his height.
He disclosed that as it stands now, he can pay some of the Ghanaian soldiers every month and still have enough to spend in the UK.
He has thus advised young Ghanaians who wish to join the Ghana army not to waste their time but should better be looking for UK, Canada or USA Visa to apply.
“When we advice you, others discourage you. But we still continue to do our best for those that have good ears.” He said.
