There is good news for trained teachers as well staff members of GES who are returning from study leave with pay. As stated in many news portals about the recruitment of some 40,000 teachers into the Ghana Education Service (GES), the Director-General, Dr. Kwasi Opoku Amankwah has requested all the Regional Director of Education to perform a certain task.

If you are a newly trained teacher from a recognized public College of Education awaiting postings, then there is good news for you. Also, if you are a teacher who went on study leave with pay to pursue further studies, then you are not left alone of the good news. The good news is that there will be recruitment of teachers soon.

In a letter sighted by bricyboateng.com, the GES headquarters has directed all Regional Directors of Education to declare vacancies in their respective regions to allow for the posting of Newly Trained Teachers and GES staff returning from study leave with pay before October 29, 2021.

Moreover, they are directed to separate the vacancies in their Basic schools from that of the Senior high schools in the region, and it should reach the head office before the above-mentioned date.

Reaction

I think the information above follows the recent declaration made about the government’s intention to employ more teachers this year. It is worthwhile to note that only qualified Newly Trained Teachers and staff members of GES who secured study leave with pay permission would be employed. If you happen not to do your mandatory national service nor did not pass your Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE), you will not be considered, and we all know it.
