Our brothers and sisters in Spain are protesting against the Ghana Embassy in Spain. This morning, pictures of their demonstration are circulating on social media under the hashtag #FixTheCountry.

The protesters numbering over one hundred held took to the streets in Valencia, Spain holding placards and banners on which they expressed their sentiments had been boldly written on. Others also held Ghana flag.

Reading from banners and placards, the reason why they are protesting is that, the Ghana Embassy in Madrid is charging high prices for passport. That is €230. Another one too had the inscription :

“ FIX THE COUNTRY” written in Spanish as “ARREGLEA EL PAÍS — GHANA for those who can read Spanish, this is for you.

Meanwhile, today being Monday 14th June 2021, the Police is taking conveners of FixTheCountry to Court again in an attempt to block the upcoming #FixTheCountry demonstration yet to hit major streets in Ghana.

Following the Ghana Police attempt to frustrate and hinder the demonstration, a sub hashtag has been created by the conveners to counter the Ghana Police.

The conveners have said that no matter what they (the government and police) do, #WeGoDemonstrate.
