EOCO Cautions Salaried Workers About Securing Loans

Published

on

The Economic And Organized Crime Unit (EOCO) is cautioning all salaried workers to be circumspect when dealing with individuals posing as middlemen to secure a loan from a financial institution.

EOCO has been sending bulk text messages to both government workers including those employed in the private sector to be careful, when dealing with loan agents. These agents serve as middlemen who help them to secure a loan within hours.

The caution by the specialized law enforcement agency is as a result of the bulk SMS salaried workers have been receiving on their phones by some loan firms advertising their flexible loans packages.

Aside that, some persons posing as staff of the Controller And Accountant General’s Department (CAGD) have also been calling government workers to convince them about taking loans without the loan reflecting on the payslip.
