Michael Owusu, known in public discourse as Teacher Kwadwo has vented his anger towards the GNAT, TEWU, NAGRAT, CCT-GH and all the other teacher unions in the country, blaming them for being part of teachers woes.
Speaking to an Accra-based radio station, Nhyira FM, the popular YouTube comedian is pointing fingers at the teacher unions for being mute to the problems of the Ghanaian teacher faces online of his work.
According to him, these teacher unions serve as savings and loans as they continue to milk the hard-earned money of the ordinary teacher into their personal coffers. He explained by adding that, teachers pay dues on monthly basis which is given back to them as loans with high-interest rates without any consideration.
Speaking on salary issues, the fumed teacher also revealed that most teachers have not been upgraded nor promoted to their respective ranks after successfully going for further. Some teachers are suffering because of this and, in worse scenarios, have retired from the profession without being promoted.
Michael Owusu has for the past few days channelled his energy into revealing the deplorable working conditions his colleague teachers are going through in remote villages across the country. As a result of this, he has created a hashtag #fixGES to encourage teachers to be bold and speak to the challenges facing them in the teaching profession.
