Dr. Eric Nkansah, Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), has announced a scholarship for Akosua Adjei Boateng, a standout graduate of Juaso Senior High Technical School in Juaso-Ashanti. Akosua achieved an extraordinary feat by securing 8As in the WASSCE, making her the top student in the Technical programme.
The scholarship decision followed an interview with Adom News, where Akosua revealed her financial difficulties. Dr. Nkansah, a fellow native of Juaso, expressed both pride in her accomplishments and disappointment in her struggles as an orphan to pursue higher education.
Dr. Nkansah made the scholarship pledge during the WAEC Distinction Awards, where Akosua was honored for her remarkable academic achievements. Subsequently, he hosted Akosua, her family, and officials from Juaso Senior High Technical School at his office.
In their meeting, they discussed Akosua’s career aspirations and outlined steps to support her educational journey. Dr. Nkansah expressed strong confidence in her potential and reiterated his commitment to her academic success.
He also emphasized his dedication to fostering educational opportunities and nurturing talent within Ghana’s academic landscape, reaffirming his support for students like Akosua.
