Little did the world know that Covid-19 would befall the entire planet. From its inception in 2019, millions of lives have been lost. One common thing that most health experts kept on emphasing was having a strong immune system to combat this deadly virus.

In order to protect yourself from contracting killer diseases, practising a healthy lifestyle is very important to the well-being of every individual. In 2021, strive to let your food be your medicine and your medicine be your food. The following healthy lifestyles can help you live a healthy and happy life on earth.

1. Avoid your bad habits
Bad habits like drinking alcohol in excess, smoking, not getting enough sleep as you should can all has negative impact on your well-being. 2021 is the right time to replace these habits with a better and healthier lifestyle.

2. Eat Healthily
To eat healthily means eating a balanced diet which should consist of carbohydrates, protein, plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. Saturated fats, sugars and salts should be reduced as much as possible.

3. Drink more water is your most important nutrient. Doctors recommend a normal adult to drink at least eight glasses of water every day.

Drinking water is necessary for our kidneys and other organs to functions properly. Lack of enough water in our body can cause the skin can become more vulnerable to skin disorders and wrinkling.

4. Exercise your body regularly
regular exercise is good for boosting energy and minimizing fatigue. During workout, your oxygen and nutrients travel to your heart and lungs. This improves your cardiovascular system and overall stamina.

5. Have enough sleep
During sleep, your body is busily working to support healthy brain function and maintain your physical health. Basically, health experts recommend that, the minimum sleeping time for adults should be eight (8) hours a day and a 30-minute maximum for a nap.

People who have good sleep at night become physically and mentally strong in the day. Good sleep helps your brain to function well. It is also a sign of living a quality life.

6. Be positive
Our body is controlled by our mind. Positive mindset helps you overcome the challenges of life and motivates you to achieve your goals.

Self-love is a key to a healthy and happy lifestyle. Have a high self-esteem in life because feeling good about yourself can affect how you act.

7. Find time to rest
Lack of rest makes us feel stressed and reduces our ability to think properly. After a hard day’s work, you might feel stressed. Stress can have a negative effect on your well-being, affect your sleep, lessen energy levels and cause a variety of illnesses.

Reduce your stress level by allocating some time to rest, visit a spa for some massage or even mediating for some time.

8. Live a balanced life.
A fully balanced life is required for health and happiness. We each have different areas of life that are important to us. Too much of everyday they say is bad. Try as much as possible to do everything in moderation.

All aspects of one’s self must work in harmony to achieve healthy living, so you need to create a balanced life in all aspects of life.
