11 Senior High Schools Being Monitored By WAEC Over An Alleged Cheating

The West African Examination Council (WAEC) is closely monitoring some eleven (11) senior high schools in this year’s WASSCE over an alleged intent to cheat in the examination.

In a press statement released by the Council, it highlighted the names of the schools of which they have received tip-offs over an alleged examination malpractices. The schools include the following:

1. Ejisu Senior High Technical School
2. Anlo-Anfiadenyigba SHS
3. Tepa SHS
4. Yeji Senior High Technical
5. King David College, Somanya
6. Ideal College, Sunyanj
7. Christ The King SHS, Obuasi
8. Modern SHS, Kpong
9. Modern SHS, Kintampo
10. Oyoko Methodist SHS
11. Klo Agogo SHS

Postponement of Physics 2&1 And Business Management 2&1 Papers

Meanwhile, the Council has rescheduled the writing of the above papers to an indefinite date. The papers which were to be written today, Wednesday, September 15, 2021, got leaked on the various social media platforms several hours before its commencement.

Withdrawal of some Supervisors and invigilators

The Council has also withdrawn some supervisors and invigilators in this year’s WASSCE due to their alleged misconduct towards examination malpractices in the centres where they are officiating. The affected officials are pending sanctions by WAEC.

Background

The 2021 WASSCE commenced on August 16, 2021, in 763 centres for the examination across the country. So far, thirty-three (33) papers have been administered to candidates.
